Hi, I'm Karen.

I’m a nature-loving Environmental Scientist working to protect our environment from the impact of humans. In my spare time, I am a competitive athlete, Board Certified Holistic Health Counselor and an Integrated Nutrition Coach. I have specializations in BodyMind Nutrition, Integrative Nutrition and Raw Nutrition. Since opening my coaching practice in 2012, I’ve had the pleasure of helping a variety of clients identify their unique nutritional needs that will help them achieve their goals. I provide support for these needs through meal planning, holistic health counseling, recommended lifestyle changes and accountability. All of which is provided remotely from where I live in Colorado.

As an athlete with many food sensitivities, I understand the importance of knowing which foods improve or hinder my performance and when it’s best to consume them. As an Integrated Nutrition Coach, my clients and I go beyond discussing specific foods for fuel and also help athletes identify lifestyle changes that will optimize their performance in their sport. These lifestyle changes may also lead to: improved sleep and recovery, a deeper connection with our natural world, less exposure to environmental toxins, reduced stress, increased confidence and self-awareness and enhanced mental toughness during high pressure situations.

In order to provide my clients with a more holistic approach that goes beyond my expertise in nutrition, mindset and lifestyle changes, I teamed up with Coach Mike Anderson from Anderson Strength and Fitness. Mike is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist living in San Diego. He has worked with many elite athletes and Olympic hopefuls. He’s been my Strength and Conditioning coach since 2013 and has undoubtedly contributed to improving my performance as a competitive and injury-free beach volleyball player. He is one of the best coaches that I’ve ever worked with because he is incredibly knowledgeable about the human body, and listens to the goals and needs of his athletes
