Sweet Potatoes:

Sweet potatoes are a nutrient-dense root vegetable that is rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. They are an excellent source of energy, providing a steady release of glucose into the bloodstream, which can sustain you during workouts or competitions. Sweet potatoes are also packed with antioxidants, including beta-carotene, which can help reduce inflammation and support recovery after intense exercise.

Sweet potatoes are a versatile and nutritious vegetable that can be enjoyed throughout the year. However, their peak season and optimal freshness may vary depending on your location. In general, sweet potatoes are harvested in the fall, which is when you can find a wide variety of sweet potato cultivars at their best. The cooler months allow the sweet potatoes to develop their flavors fully, resulting in a sweeter and more flavorful taste. During the late fall and winter months, sweet potatoes are often readily available and at their peak freshness.

Maca Powder:

Maca powder has a rich history dating back thousands of years in the Andean region of Peru. It is derived from the root of the maca plant (Lepidium meyenii), which is native to the high altitudes of the Peruvian Andes. Maca has been cultivated and consumed by indigenous communities for centuries, primarily for its medicinal and nutritional properties. Revered as a sacred crop, maca played a significant role in the Inca civilization and was highly valued for its ability to enhance energy, fertility, and overall well-being. Traditionally, maca was consumed by warriors and athletes to boost stamina and improve physical performance. Over time, the reputation of maca spread beyond the Andean region, gaining popularity as a superfood worldwide due to its unique nutritional profile and potential health benefits.

When incorporated into the soup, bone broth adds depth and complexity to the overall flavor profile. Moreover, bone broth provides additional nutritional benefits, including supporting joint health, promoting gut health, and boosting the immune system. Its gelatinous texture also lends a satisfying mouthfeel to the soup.
